VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Homes are no longer selling at a record-breaking pace for record setting prices, but that doesn't mean people don't have plans to buy. A new Ipsos Reid survey shows that the number of people who intend to buy is holding steady.
Sean Simpson with Ipsos Reid says despite the doom-and-gloom news, slowing home sales, high oil prices, etc., the number of people planning to change addresses in the next two years is virtually unchanged. "Home purchasing intentions in Canada are relatively stable. Nationally, they are down just one percentage point from when we asked the question in January and in British Columbia they are actually up one percentage point."
Ipsos Reid says 22% of Canadians are considering a move in the next two years, and that jumps to 27% in B.C.
